Introduction to Morgan Geyser and Anissa Weier

The Slender Man Obsession

The Stabbing Incident
On May 31, 2014, Morgan and Anissa lured their classmate, Payton Leutner, into the woods, where they stabbed her 19 times. The attack was intended to be a sacrifice to the Slender Man, whom they believed would harm them and their families if they didn't carry out the act. Payton miraculously survived the attack, and Morgan and Anissa were arrested and charged with attempted first-degree intentional homicide.
Trials and Sentencing
Morgan and Anissa were tried separately, with Morgan's trial being the first to take place. In 2017, Morgan pleaded guilty to attempted first-degree intentional homicide and was sentenced to 40 years in a psychiatric institution. Anissa's trial followed, and she was found not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect. She was sentenced to 25 years in a psychiatric institution, with the possibility of supervised release after 10 years.
